7-Day Western Caribbean from Galveston: Cozumel, Roatán, Harvest Caye & Costa Maya

March 27 – April 3, 2027 | Norwegian Viva | Roundtrip from Galveston, Texas

Drive to the port, skip the airport, and let Norwegian Viva do the rest. This week covers the best of the Western Caribbean: Cozumel's reefs, Roatán's jungle and turquoise water, a full day on NCL's private island in Belize, and Mayan ruins in Costa Maya. On board, you get one of the newest ships in the fleet, with a go-kart track, dry slides, oceanfront dining, and more open-air space than you'll know what to do with. Four countries, one unpack.

CRUISE ITINERARY

Saturday, March 27 | Galveston, Texas (Embark)

Galveston makes the start of the trip easy. It's historic, walkable, and a straight drive for much of Texas and the Gulf South. Arrive early for a stroll down The Strand or a bite on the Seawall, then board Viva and watch the Texas coastline fade behind you.

  • Grab a first-day lunch at Indulge Food Hall, where you can sample a dozen kinds of food without committing to one.

  • Toast the sailaway from an Ocean Boulevard bar as the ship pulls out of Galveston Bay.

Ocean Boulevard

Sunday, March 28 | At Sea

A full day on the Gulf with nowhere to be. This is the day to explore everything Viva has before the port run starts.

  • Book a Thermal Suite pass at Mandara Spa and settle in for the day with the saltwater pool, heated loungers, and snow room.

  • Take a few laps on the Viva Speedway, a three-level go-kart track at sea.

Norwegian Speedway

Monday, March 29 | Cozumel, Mexico

Cozumel's water is so clear it doesn't look real. The island sits on some of the most famous reef systems in the Caribbean, with laid-back beach clubs and the colorful town of San Miguel a short ride from the pier.

  • Snorkel or dive Palancar Reef, where the coral walls drop off into deep blue.

  • Take the ferry to the mainland and explore the clifftop Mayan ruins of Tulum.

Palancar Reef

Tuesday, March 30 | Roatán, Honduras

Roatán is lush, green, and surrounded by the second-largest barrier reef in the world. Expect jungle hills, easygoing island energy, and some of the best snorkeling of the week.

  • Spend the day at West Bay Beach, where the reef starts just steps from the sand.

  • Meet sloths and monkeys up close at a local wildlife sanctuary.

Snorkel at Roatan

Wednesday, March 31 | Harvest Caye, Belize

Harvest Caye is Norwegian's private island in southern Belize, built for exactly the kind of day you picture when you book a cruise. Lounge by the huge pool, stake out a spot on the beach, or head to the mainland for rainforest and river adventures.

  • Soar over the island on the zipline and take on the Flighthouse tower.

  • Cruise the Monkey River on the mainland and listen for howler monkeys in the canopy.

Thursday, April 1 | Costa Maya, Mexico

Costa Maya is a short morning in port with a big payoff. It's the gateway to ancient Mayan sites deep in the jungle and the barefoot fishing village of Mahahual.

  • Walk the ruins at Chacchoben, where temples rise above the rainforest.

  • Grab a beach chair and fresh ceviche along the Mahahual boardwalk.

Friday, April 2 | At Sea

One last day of open water to soak up everything you haven't gotten to yet.

  • Claim a daybed at Vibe Beach Club, the adults-only sun deck with its own bar and hot tubs.

  • Take a spin down The Drop and The Rush, the ship's freefall dry slides, then cool off in the Aqua Park.

Saturday, April 3 | Galveston, Texas (Disembark)

Back in Galveston with a tan, a camera roll full of reef photos, and no flight home to worry about.
